Aromatherapy

Essential oils have been described as the “life force” or “essence” of plants. Aromatherapy is a method of employing these essential oils to protect, heal and beautify. They are the perfect addition to any massage. Relaxing, rejuvenating and healing, offering protection from many of today’s ailments and respite from our hectic  lifestyles.

The healing ability of essential oils is becoming increasingly well known. There has been much research, for example into the antiviral and antibacterial properties of tea tree. It has been shown to be at least as effective as any mainstream drug in treating and preventing MRSA superbugs, without the resistance that happens with antibiotics. Lavender’s properties as a relaxant and healing agent is well known. Less well known, in western culture at least, is the healing ability of sandalwood, or other ‘woody’ oils such as cedar wood which act on all levels of our being.
